Record your music at Phantom City Studio Recording Studios in Orlando Florida
Since 1999, the renowned mastering studio Phantom City Studio has produced hundreds of masters for major record companies.
Phantom City Studio Online Mixing, Mastering and Production is a service inspired by the fact that more and more people have access to home recording set-ups and can therefore make a good start in the recording process without having to hire big studios incurring a huge expense.
At Phantom City Studio we aim to provide the missing step between recording something yourself and then having it sound balanced and professional as a finished master. We can do everything, from mixing a complete track to make it sound more "professional", to surrounding a basic structure (i.e. voice and guitar) with all the instrumentation you need to form the finished sound. All this with a mastering service that will ensure your song leaps out at the listener, which is essential when trying to impress the A&R reps.
With experience in producing tracks for high profile clients in most genres, we can bring this knowledge and experience to your project, giving your songs the balance they need to reveal their true quality.
Modern production techniques mean that making a finished track may not be just a case of a tonal and dynamic balancing. Timing and tuning issues play a big part in creating a polished and professional overall impression. Through the manipulation of various tools, we can improve these areas, ensuring that you've never played more in time or sung more in tune whilst sounding completely natural throughout.
Thank you for taking the time to visit Online Mixing, Mastering and Production. We hope you find what you are looking for at a highly competitive price.
How it Works:
After speaking to a Phantom City Studio representative, you will be directed to a secure area where you can upload your tracks via our upload service. You will fill in a feedback box to give us details about the track and any thoughts on how you would like the finished track to sound. As much information as possible is good here as it allows us to get the sound you are looking for. Once the tracks are received we promise to carry out the process within the time stated here on the website.
It is important that you have the files ready to post to our secure server. The standard file type is usually a 24bit/44.1khz wav or aif file. However it can be 16bit/ 44.1 khz or even an mp3 file. Of course there is a compromise with mp3's and it is highly recommended that the bit rate should be no less than 256 Kbps. If you are exporting from pro tools or any other standard DAW program, the files should be of equal length in order for easy syncing at our end (most importantly they should all start at the same time - this includes midi files also).
The tracks themselves should be "Dry", as in they should not have any effects applied to them other than what was recorded in the first instance. If you have already applied effects as part of the production intention then by all means let us know.
Phone Patch:
Phantom City Studio is equipped with the world famous "Telos" phone patch. This means you can listen in on your session LIVE from anywhere in the world. Call (407) 876-9130 for details.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions:
What can I send you?
Anything having to do with audio.
Who owns the rights for the tracks?
You do! We record our tracks on a work for hire basis. This means that by the end of the process, you own all of the rights of the recording. You are free to publish, reproduce or sell your song without our consent.
What about modifications and changes?
You are the boss. We will send you an MP3 preview after each instrument has been recorded for your approval. Included in the package is a free modification for each instrument (additional modifications are only $25 each).
What if I want you to use my vocals?
We will send you a rough edit after you have approved all of the instrumentals. Then you will record your vocals, send it back to us and then we will mix and master it with the rest of the project.
What about software and formatting?
Use our tracks with any software or DAW. Import our tracks to the starting point of the sketch you've sent us and you're good to go. You may choose your preferable WAV format up to 24bit, 96KHz to fit your project needs.
How do I pay for my tracks?
We accept credit cards. Paying for our services is easy. Use any major credit card or use PayPal.
How can I send my song?
You will be able to upload your song as a Wav. or MP3 file through our secure ftp server. We will provide you with easy step by step directions to guide you through the uploading and downloading process.
You may also send us a CD through the mail to:
Phantom City Studio 9151 Kilgore Rd Orlando, Fl 32836 United States
Which is the ideal source format for mastering, and in which format will I receive my mastered material ?
Currently, our web server only accepts WAV and MP3 files (AIFF is in preparation). MP3 is lossy compression process and thus, not ideal for mastering. If you want to supply us with MP3 files, please make sure that they are coded in at least 192 kbit/sec (stereo, not joint stereo).
We recommend you send us your files as a WAV format in any sample rate and bit rate.
Your song is good to master if you had no equalizer, compressor or limiter in the sum signal, because a little bit of headroom helps our work.
You will receive a master as a 16 bit/44.1 khz WAV file, which is a common reproduction format to make an audio CD. Upon special request you will receive your files in other formats.
There are several free programs to convert AIFF to WAV, e.g. Switch for Windows or SoX Wrap for Apple/Macintosh
In Apple Logic Pro you can convert an aiff audio file under: Audio Window –Audio File– Convert to WAV Stereo
For further information please send us mail to admin@phantomcitystudio.com. We are happy to answer any question.
What happens, if I have paid for the mastering, but I am not satisfied with the product?
Tell us exactly what you are not satisfied with. We will make a new master according to your wishes. In no case do we want to have unhappy customers.
Can a data loss (sound loss) occur during the file transfer?
No. Your transferred data is binary coded, our upload function checks that the data has been completely transferred.
How do I download the audio files to my computer?
For Apple Macintosh: In the safari web browser, open the "data upload" window in the "window" menu. Move the marked url with copy/paste in that window. The file is loading on your computer.
For Internet Explorer and Windows XP: If you're using a different browser such as Netscape Navigator or a different version of Windows, your screens may look a little different, but the same basic steps should work.
1. Click on the download link for the program you want to download. Many sites offer multiple download links to the same program, and you only need to choose one of these links. 2. You may be asked if you want to save the file or run it from its current location. If you are asked this question, select "Save." If not, don't worry -- some browsers will automatically choose "Save" for you. 3. You will then be asked to select the folder where you want to save the program or file, using a standard "Save As" dialog box. Pay attention to which folder you select before clicking the "Save" button. It may help you to create a folder like "C:\Download" for all of your downloads, but you can use any folder you'd like. 4. The download will now begin. Your web browser will keep you updated on the progress of the download by showing a progress bar that fills up as you download. You will also be reminded where you're saving the file. Note: You may also see a check box labeled "Close this dialog box when download completes." If you see this check box, it helps to uncheck this box. You don't have to, but if you do, it will be easier to find the file after you download it. 5. Depending on which file you're downloading and how fast your connection is, it may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to download. When your download is finished, if you left the "Close this dialog box when download completes" option unchecked, you'll see a dialog box. 6. Now click the "Open" button to run the file you just downloaded. If you don't see the "Download complete" dialog box, open the folder where you saved the file and double-click on the icon for the file there.
What happens next will depend on the type of file you downloaded. The files you'll download most often will end in one of two extensions. (An extension is the last few letters of the filename, after the period.) They are:
* .EXE files: The file you downloaded is a program. Follow the on-screen instructions from there to install the program to your computer and to learn how to run the program after it's installed. * .ZIP files: ZIP is a common file format used to compress and combine files to make them download more quickly. Some versions of Windows (XP and sometimes ME) can read ZIP files without extra software. Otherwise, you will need an unzipping program to read these ZIP files. Common unzipping programs are WinZIP, PKZIP, and BitZipper, but there are also many others. Many unzipping programs are shareware, which means you will need to purchase them if you use them beyond their specified trial period.
